Woods & Co Recruitment is excited to be recruiting for a Business Development Manager with a leading Australian-owned logistics provider experiencing a dynamic phase of expansion.

This innovative company is enhancing its national and international capabilities under new management, creating a unique opportunity for a senior sales professional with a strong background in transport and freight. You will have the autonomy to develop your market, leverage your network, and secure high-value accounts while working with a leadership team that values commercial insight and initiative.

This role offers the chance to influence strategy, forge local and national client relationships, and make a tangible impact on the company’s growth trajectory.

What you’ll do:

  • Drive new business development across transport, freight forwarding, and warehousing in Victoria
  • Identify key opportunities, build strategic client relationships, and develop tailored logistics solutions
  • Lead commercial discussions, prepare proposals, and close deals that deliver long-term value
  • Maintain accurate pipeline and performance reporting
  • Collaborate with operations to ensure seamless execution of client commitments
  • Represent the company in the Melbourne market, building brand presence and trust

What we’re looking for:

  • 3+ years in sales or business development within transport, freight forwarding, or logistics
  • Strong knowledge of domestic and international freight operations, customs, and trade
  • CargoWise experience is highly regarded
  • Proficiency with MS Office and CRM platforms (Salesforce, HubSpot, etc.)
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to build trust, influence decision-makers, and close complex deals
