Network Engineer

Woods & Co Recruitment is proud to be partnering with a leading national organisation to appoint an experienced Network Engineer on a 6-month contract. This role will see you step into a high-performing internal IT environment, supporting critical network infrastructure and delivering key project initiatives while covering a leave period within the team.

This is a great opportunity for a hands-on Network Engineer who enjoys a mix of project delivery and operational support, working across modern enterprise environments with strong vendor technologies.

What you’ll do:

  • Deliver network-focused project work across switching, routing, and firewall environments
  • Configure and maintain enterprise network infrastructure (Cisco, Palo Alto etc.)
  • Support new network initiatives, upgrades, and enhancements
  • Provide Level 2/3 support and troubleshooting across network systems
  • Work closely with internal teams and external providers to resolve escalations
  • Assist with BAU support and ensure network stability and performance
  • Maintain clear and accurate technical documentation

What we’re looking for:

  • Proven experience as a Network Engineer within enterprise or complex IT environments
  • Strong hands-on expertise with Cisco networking (routing & switching)
  • Solid experience with Palo Alto firewalls
  • Experience working across both project delivery and BAU support
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across teams
  • Immediate or short notice availability highly regarded
