Woods & Co Recruitment are excited to partner with one of Melbourne's most loved venues in search for their next Head Chef. Located in the heart of Prahran, this venue blends modern Chinese-inspired cuisine, creative cocktails and an atmosphere that keeps guests coming back for more.

We're looking for a Head Chef who thrives in a high-volume environment and is passionate about leading from the front. You'll play a key role in shaping the venue's next chapter by taking ownership of BOH operations, driving food quality and building a high-performing kitchen culture. Supported by an experienced hospitality group, this is an opportunity to make a genuine impact within one of Melbourne's most exciting restaurant groups.

What do you do?

  • Oversee kitchen operations across multiple venues and ensure consistency and quality at every service.
  • Lead menu development with a focus on seasonal, sustainable and produce-driven cooking.
  • Build, train and mentor BOH teams to foster a high-performing and positive kitchen culture.
  • Manage supplier relationships, food costs and KPIs to drive strong commercial outcomes.
  • Remain highly operational and present in venues to support multiple venues during service.

What do you need?

  • Previous experience as a Head Chef within a premium casual dining environment.
  • Strong understanding of modern Asian, Chinese or share-style dining concepts.
  • Proven ability to lead large kitchen teams while maintaining a positive culture.
  • Experience managing food costs, labour budgets, stock control and supplier relationships.
  • A passion for delivering consistent and high-quality food.
  • Strong leadership skills with a hands-on approach to coaching, mentoring and developing BOH staff.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-energy.
