Woods & Co are presently seeking an experienced Senior Draftsperson to join a well-established residential builder in Melbourne.

This role is suited to someone who is technically strong, highly capable in Revit, and importantly, has the leadership capability and ambition to step into a Team Lead position in the near future.

The business is looking for someone who can make an immediate impact from a technical perspective while gradually taking on greater responsibility across the drafting team. This is a genuine career progression opportunity for a Senior Draftsperson who sees leadership as the next step in their career.

Responsibilities

  • Produce accurate and detailed residential construction documentation using Revit
  • Manage drafting requirements across projects from design through to construction
  • Review documentation for accuracy, buildability and compliance
  • Provide technical support and guidance to other members of the drafting team
  • Assist with resolving complex drafting and construction-related issues
  • Work closely with internal teams including estimating, pre-site, construction and design
  • Contribute to improving drafting processes, standards and efficiencies
  • Mentor and support junior and intermediate Draftspersons
  • Take increasing responsibility for the performance and coordination of the drafting team
  • Progress into a formal Team Lead position as the team and responsibilities continue to develop
About You

We're looking for a Senior Draftsperson who has more than just strong technical skills.

You'll ideally have:

  • 5+ years of experience in residential drafting
  • Strong and proven Revit experience – essential
  • A solid understanding of residential construction and building documentation
  • Strong technical knowledge with excellent attention to detail
  • The ability to review and identify issues within documentation
  • Experience supporting, mentoring or guiding other Draftspersons
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • A proactive approach and the ability to take ownership
  • The natural leadership qualities required to influence and support a team
  • A genuine ambition to progress into a Team Lead role
