Woods & Co have partnered with a rapidly expanding, Australian-owned logistics provider that is transforming its footprint with a brand-new state-of-the-art depot in Brisbane. With new leadership and ambitious growth plans, the business is strengthening its domestic transport, international freight forwarding, and 3PL warehousing capabilities

This role is designed for a Business Development Manager within transport and logistics who wants ownership of a market and the freedom to build revenue from the ground up. You’ll be responsible for creating opportunity, converting prospects into long-term customers, and establishing a strong commercial footprint in your state.

With new management driving the next stage of growth, the business is now seeking a Business Development Manager to help expand its customer base and play a key role in shaping its commercial success.

The role offers the chance to influence both strategy and execution, working closely with internal teams to ensure seamless delivery and long-term customer satisfaction.

What You’ll Do:

• Build and maintain a strong pipeline of leads and prospective new business clients
• Develop and execute a growth strategy focused on both financial performance and customer satisfaction
• Conduct market and customer research to identify needs and uncover new opportunities
• Arrange and lead meetings with prospective clients, acting as a key representative of the business
• Promote and position logistics solutions aligned to client objectives and requirements
• Prepare and negotiate sales contracts in line with company and legal guidelines
• Maintain accurate records of sales activity, revenue, and invoicing
• Provide ongoing support and after-sales service to ensure customer satisfaction
• Develop and nurture long-term relationships with both new and existing clients
• Contribute to the development and mentoring of entry-level sales team members

What You Need:

• Proven experience as a Business Development Manager, Sales Executive, or similar role within logistics
• Strong track record in selling international/global freight forwarding solutions
• Experience working across customer support and relationship management
• Proficiency in MS Office (particularly Excel) and CRM systems (e.g. Salesforce)
• Strong communication and negotiation skills with the ability to build rapport quickly
• Solid market knowledge within freight/logistics
• Excellent time management, organisation, and planning abilities
• Ability to influence stakeholders and close new business opportunities
