Woods & Co are partnering with a well-established services business seeking an experienced Financial Controller to take ownership of the finance function and support continued growth. This role suits someone who understands operational environments involving machinery, civil-style work, materials, labour allocation and claims processing, with strong commercial instincts.

The Role
You’ll manage all financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and process improvement across the business. Working closely with operations, you’ll ensure accurate cost allocation, pricing, performance tracking and claims management to support efficient and profitable delivery of services.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the full finance function including reporting, budgeting and cashflow
Manage claims processing, variations and reconciliations for project-based work
Build accurate costing models across labour, machinery, materials and subcontractors
Price equipment usage, mark-ups and allocation for operational projects
Partner with operations to enhance financial accuracy and project profitability
Oversee compliance, audits, payroll and financial governance
Identify and implement financial process improvements
You Will Have
5–10 years’ experience as a Financial Controller or Senior Accountant
Background in machinery-heavy, civil, construction, or field-based service industries
Strong understanding of claims processing and cost allocation
Proven experience pricing labour, equipment, materials and project-based work
Strong commercial acumen and stakeholder communication skills
Exceptional attention to detail and leadership capability
