Woods & Co Recruitment is on the hunt for an experienced Head or Executive Chef to take the reins at a rapidly growing venue. Specialising in premium red meats and smoked meats, this venue features multiple service offerings, including an elevated dining experience, a thriving functions & events space, and a casual beer garden.
With a focus on high-quality produce, fine dining expertise, and a passion for cooking/smoking meats, this is a unique opportunity for a driven Head Chef to make their mark in a venue that has seen 50% growth in the last 18 months and is set to continue expanding. What's in it for you?
- Salary: $100,000 - $115,000 + Super
- Work-life balance: fixed roster (42-46 hours per week).
- Work with premium produce, specialising in red meats and smoking techniques.
- Oversee two kitchens providing service across the restaurant, functions/events, and casual beer garden.
- Opportunity to create and evolve menus, with three menu changes per year.
- Lead a dedicated kitchen team of 7 permanent staff plus casuals.

What do you do? - Oversee the daily operations of two kitchens, ensuring efficiency across all service areas.
- Create and execute seasonal menus for the restaurant, using high-quality ingredients.
- Maintain high standards in cooking and presentation, particularly for red and smoked meats.
- Monitor and report on KPIs, presenting updates and progress.
- Work collaboratively with the FOH team to deliver a seamless dining experience.
- Manage kitchen budgets, inventories, and supplier relationships.
What do you need? - Fine dining experience with a strong understanding of red meats, steak preparation, and premium produce.
- Passion or interest in smoking meats.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage a team across two kitchens.
- Creativity in menu development and the ability to evolve the food offering.
- Ability to delegate, oversee prep, and manage multiple service areas.
- Experience with kitchen financials, including budgeting, reporting, and stock control.
- Excellent communication skills to work effectively with the FOH team.
- A driven mindset to continue growing the venue's success.
