We’re partnering with a well-established Melbourne property developer known for delivering high-quality retail and mixed-use precincts across Victoria and Sydney. Due to a strong pipeline of work, they are now seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Development Manager to support the delivery of complex, design-led developments.
This role is ideally suited to someone with experience in retail, commercial, or mixed-use developments — someone who understands how to navigate tenancy coordination, design interfaces, and stakeholder engagement within an urban context.
Key Responsibilities: - Support the planning, design, and delivery of high-profile retail and mixed-use projects.
- Assist in feasibility analysis and financial modelling to evaluate project viability.
- Coordinate with internal teams, external consultants, authorities, and retail tenants throughout the development lifecycle.
- Prepare reports, presentations, and project schedules for internal and external stakeholders.
- Contribute to site inspections and ensure milestones are tracked against quality, cost, and program.
- Maintain compliance with all relevant building codes, planning controls, and design standards.
- Assist in design coordination with a focus on retail layouts, access, services, and functionality.
- Bring fresh ideas to improve design outcomes, project efficiencies, and customer experience.
Skills & Qualifications: - A degree in Property, Construction, Architecture, Planning, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Ideally, some exposure to delivery in retail or mixed-use development.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with an ability to manage a wide range of stakeholders.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint; exposure to software like Estate Master or CAD is a plus.
- Detail-oriented, proactive, and passionate about development.
This is an excellent opportunity to work with a development team that values mentoring, collaboration, and long-term growth.
